What True Health Really Means | Hashimoto Coach
What does good health mean when you have Hashimoto's? Kris shares her thoughts on balance, food, exercise, self-care and learning what works for her.
Good health is about so much more than just watching your diet and exercising.
Given my background as a former model and massage therapist, I know from experience that being too rigid about anything can actually harm your health. Whether it's eating too healthy (yes, that's a thing!), over-exercising (especially with Hashimoto's), or being overly focused on mindfulness—it all comes back to finding that balance.
There is a reason why medicine speaks of the body's homeostasis; your body is always searching for this natural state of balance. It is a continuous process of feeling, experimenting, reflecting, adjusting, and trying to stay in the flow when you find what works for you.
This journey will always be a winding road, never a straight line. True health also starts with self-love—and I don't mean the airy-fairy kind, but down-to-earth, honest self-love. What is the motivation behind your choices? How do you care for your home, your body, your belongings, and what do you want to dedicate your energy to? Health, life, and life events are not black and white; different realities can absolutely coexist, and the art lies in finding peace and flow within that.
