Hashimoto and Heat Intolerance | Hashimoto Coach
Heat intolerance with Hashimoto? Learn why hot weather may feel especially difficult, which symptoms can occur and what factors may play a role.
The sun is shining, but all winter long, I’ve been complaining about being freezing cold, bundled up in three sweaters, thick socks, and holding a hot water bottle.
I really don't like the dry heat from central heating; it dries out my mucous membranes, which triggers my histamine issues even more.
On top of Hashimoto's, I'm also going through perimenopause, which makes for one big hormonal imbalance party.
But I digress, complaining about being so cold and wishing it were summer already.
To be honest, I love all seasons, but there's something so lovely about being able to go outside in nice weather and feeling like your living space has expanded.
Now, we're having a beautiful summer, and here I am complaining again because I just can't handle it. Extreme fatigue, weight gain, dizziness—I simply can't release my body heat when it's 30 degrees (86°F) outside. One day is manageable, but after a few days, all I can do is stay indoors or wander around the supermarket.
At least I know the entire inventory by heart now, so there's that.
I do try to enjoy the summer wherever I can, but any desire to go on holiday abroad? No, I don't have that at all!
